Ratt's Pearcy in urgent surgery

Ratt have cancelled their upcoming UK and Europe tour including an appearance at the Download Festival after singer Steven Pearcy was told he needs an urgent hernia operation.

And it's not the first time a medical emergency played a major role in Pearcy's life.

The news comes after the five-piece released Infestation, their first album in 11 years, which has been hailed as a return to classic form.

Ratt were scheduled to appear at Download on Sunday, followed by a show with Girlschool at Islington Academy on June 15 and the Spring & Airbrake in Belfast the following night. Then they were heading to festivals in Spain, Belgium, the Czech Republic and Italy before returning to the US to support the Scorpions.

A band spokesman says: "Pearcy's doctors anticipate a full recover in time for Ratt's North American touring schedule. The band regrets missing the European dates and is looking into rescheduling as many of the shows as possible."

Hi Scotscub i just realized Stephen pearcy is in hopsital and needs an urgent hernia operation .I hope he gets better soon and continue doing good music.
