Scotscub57 yrsTuesday 18/8/2009 what a day it was for anyone in Glasgow, we had football when Celtic & Arsenel played at Parkhead , U2 played at Hampden park , getting from A to B wasn't easy , after finishing work I had to try & make my way to Hampden for the U2 concert, it took me about 1 hour to get there, once there & meeting up with my friend, getting to our seats , it was well worth it.
59,000 U2 fans came to see the mighty U2 take to stage & what a treat we where all in for, a very impressive stage set which looked like a giant crab's claw-1 390 tonne, 164ft glowing blue and orange super-structure that blew out dry ice.
As Bono & co belted out songs from their currant " no line on the horizon" some are good like "magnificent" but like myself we wanted to hear those U2 classics we all love, Pride in the name of love, where the streets have no name, Sunday Bloody Sunday, that got some of us standing on our feet, stamping & clapping & singing along to every word of them.
No doubt one of the best live shows I've seen for a very long time, hope it won't be too long before U2 comes back to Europe for some more concerts, believe its worth getting a ticket for such a great night out.
I'll be happy to post some you tube U2 Glasgow videos on here very soon.
